California makes this list twice. This should not surprise anyone. Though in the same state, San Francisco brings more of a fresh and healthy dining vibe. Here you can find some of the finest Michelin star restaurants. Locals and tourists love the Ferry Building Market. The architecture is incredible and is reflective of the food inside. Just keep in mind, it can cost a pretty penny for the food here. However, if you take the time to do some searching you can find deals in some of the top food districts.

You can also find some of the best Chinese food here in Chinatown. Chinese culture breathes through the streets, ranging from herbalists to bakeries. This is one of the best ways to surround yourself with a new lifestyle.
Heading back towards the East, you will find one of the messier yet traditional cities to eat. Philadelphia is known primarily for its delicious philly cheesesteaks. The best part is that Philadelphia is just as passionate about all its other kinds of food as it is about the cheesesteaks. Foods such as their soft pretzels and pulled pork pairs well with one widely adapted rule. BYOB. Yes, “bring your own beer” is accepted at most of the beloved food outlets. Be warned, you might have a better time eating food here than most of the other cities. You might even leave an Eagles fan.

Travelling over to the edge of Michigan Lake, Chicago resides waiting for you to explore the glorious food options. Steaming through the city is a mad variety of cuisine options. However, three foods rule this area. Deep dish pizza, Chicago style hot dogs, and Italian beef. What makes Chicago so unique is that you can enjoy fine dining while overlooking the river or go to the food stand located just outside of that fine dining spot and still have a unique and wonderful food experience.

Also located in Chicago is one of the most innovative fine dining restaurants on the planet. This restaurant, Alinea, takes what you know about food and flips it upside down. For example, you will think you are eating what appears to be an orange, but come to find out that it tastes like an apple. This is called molecular gastronomy. You will understand it better once you eat one of their edible balloons. Truly a one of a kind experience worth anyone’s while.
New Orleans is filled to the brim with delicious southern food. Some people go as far as to say that the food is life changing. Some of these delicious Cajun foods consist of gumbo, jambalaya, and po’boys. These foods are considered soul food. A great way to really experience New Orleans is to join one of its many food festivals. Those who are fans of seafood swear by the Louisiana Seafood Festival. You can expect to leave with a full stomach and a happy soul!
