Valentines Day traditions have been around for thousands of years. It primarily served as a special day reserved for soul-mates to celebrate the joy and happiness they bring to each other. Love can be expressed on this day in a variety of ways; whimsical gifts, flowers, cards and romantic holidays in exotic places. One thing is certain, the 14th February is always filled with love so why not make a difference this year and treat your Valentine to a luxury meal in the aid of charity and extend your love to these very special and incredibly brave young souls.
Sean Paul Johnson – no, not the R & B star, but some may arguethat he’s an equally hot prospect – will be hosting a special evening with 100% profit going to charity. The rising culinary masterchef has already had the pleasure of sharing a kitchen with the likes of James Martin and the Hairy Bikers, not to mention working with celebrities Ryan Giggs and Freddie Flintoff.
Johnson and hostess Fiona aim to provide guests with a unique, candlelit experience which accompanies ambient music with expert high end cuisine from his traditional and tantalising à la carte menu.
Owners, Graeme and Karen, of Crumb’s Café in Leigh, Lancashire have kindly donated the use of their premises to serve as an intimate venue for the evening. Also, Chef Paul Ainscough has thoughtfully provided some of his excellent artisans jams for Sean to prepare on the night. It will no doubt be a wonderful and romantic night for all couples to remember and enjoy. However, this special event promotes much more than the celebration of love between two people because it is in sole aid of children’s charity ‘The Children’s Liver Foundation‘, which is dedicated to raising funds and leading research in order to combat all forms of liver diseases that affect children.
The meal will cost £50 per person, including a nice bottle of wine. Bookings are available between 6pm-8.30pm, which is a substantial evening time pocket. You can book it online with a deposit of just £20 per person. Simply follow this link to reserve your place.
